Below are targeted cleaning solutions for hydraulic copper housings, which take into account their structural features (cavities, deep holes, threaded holes, internal oil passages) and material properties of copper (susceptible to oxidation, incompatible with strong alkalis). These solutions remove machining oil, metal chips, sludge and surface oxides while protecting the base material and meeting hydraulic system cleanliness requirements.

Cleaning Solutions for Hydraulic Copper Housings

1. Ultrasonic Cleaning with Circulating Filtration (Conventional & Small-Batch Production)

ApplicationGeneral hydraulic copper housings, small and medium-sized batches; main contaminants: cutting fluid, oil sludge, fine metal shavings and slight surface oxidation.

EquipmentBUCK special ultrasonic cleaner for non-ferrous metals, circulating filtration system, cold air dryer.

Process Flow

  1. Pre-cleaning: Rinse off large chips and residual oil with 30–40°C warm water.

  2. Ultrasonic degreasing: Use neutral copper-compatible detergent (pH 7–8), 40–50°C, 10–12 minutes. The circulating filter continuously removes suspended impurities.

  3. Multi-stage pure water rinsing: 2 to 3 rinses; add BTA corrosion inhibitor in the final rinse to protect inner walls and threads.

  4. Drying: Dry thoroughly with 30–40°C cold air to avoid water stains and discoloration.

AdvantagesReaches hidden areas such as internal cavities, threaded holes and oil passages; no corrosion to copper; low cost and easy operation.

2. Through-Type High-Pressure Spray Cleaning (Mass Automated Production)

ApplicationMass-produced standard hydraulic copper housings, matched with automated production lines; suitable for removing heavy oil contamination and stubborn chips in deep holes.

EquipmentBUCK multi-station high-pressure spray cleaning machine, adjustable spray pressure, segmented hot air drying unit.

Process Flow

  1. High-pressure flushing: Remove bulk chips and thick oil dirt with medium-high pressure spray.

  2. Chemical degreasing: Spray with neutral cleaning agent at 50–60°C.

  3. Precision rinsing: Multi-channel pure water flushing for internal oil passages and threaded holes.

  4. Dehydration & drying: Hot air drying at 60–70°C.

4. Deoxidation & Passivation Treatment (Oxidized & Discolored Housings)

Chemicals5% citric acid solution (deoxidation), neutralizing agent, BTA passivation solution.
