Ultrasonic Cleaning Solutions for Automobile Motor Housingviews:4

Workpiece: Die‑cast aluminum alloy motor housing / drive motor housing; Contaminants: Cutting fluid, die‑casting release agent, aluminum chips, granular burrs, machine oil and grease; Compliance standard: ISO 16232 automotive component cleanliness. Two solutions are provided: Full‑automatic aqueous ultrasonic cleaning line (mass‑production cost‑effective type) and Vacuum hydrocarbon / modified alcohol ultrasonic precision cleaning (high‑cleanliness for OEMs). A CNC high‑pressure deburring module can be added for complex cross‑holes and blind holes.

I. Typical Pain Points of Working Conditions for Motor Housings

  1. Compacted aluminum chips accumulate in inner cavities, water‑cooling channels, threaded blind holes and mounting holes, which cannot be removed by ultrasonic cleaning alone.

  2. Aluminum alloy is prone to over‑cleaning, blackening and oxidation. Temperature, cleaning agent and ultrasonic power must be well‑controlled.

  3. Residual moisture in holes causes poor drying, which impairs insulation and leads to motor failures after assembly.

  4. Secondary backflow and re‑adhesion of debris require multi‑stage filtration.

  5. OEM requirements: particle residue controlled within 200‑300 μm and zero watermark residue.

Solution A: Full‑automatic Aqueous Ultrasonic Cleaning Line (BK Series, Cost‑effective for Mass Production)

Application: Component manufacturers, medium cleanliness requirements, on‑site wastewater treatment workshop, continuous high‑volume production.

Complete Process Flow (Manipulator / Material Basket Conveying)

  1. Pre‑spray Rough Cleaning: High‑pressure spraying to flush away bulk aluminum chips and heavy cutting oil; pressure: 0.5‑1.2 MPa

  2. Ultrasonic Main‑cleaning Station

    • Ultrasonic frequency: 28/40 kHz sweep‑frequency ultrasonic, anti‑standing‑wave for uniform cleaning inside housing cavities

    • Cleaning agent: Special weak‑alkaline aqueous cleaning agent for aluminum parts (with aluminum corrosion inhibitor), pH 8‑9.5. Strong alkali is forbidden to avoid corrosion of die‑cast aluminum.

    • Temperature: 48‑55 °C; do NOT exceed 60 °C to prevent aluminum oxidation and discoloration

    • Duration: 6‑10 min; Tooling: Basket oscillation / rotation to ensure cleaning fluid flows fully through housing channels and blind holes

    • Filtration: Magnetic separation + bag‑type filtration for continuous removal of aluminum chips to avoid secondary contamination

  3. 1‑stage Spray Rinsing: Circulating hot‑water rinsing to remove residual cleaning agent

  4. 2‑stage Ultrasonic DI‑Water Rinsing: Ultrasonic rinsing with deionized water to minimize residuals

  5. Air‑knife Water Shearing: High‑velocity air to blow off most surface moisture of housings

  6. Hot‑air Circulating Drying: 80‑110 °C hot air. For severe inner‑cavity water retention, a vacuum drying station is recommended to eliminate residual water in holes.

  7. Unloading + Cleanliness Sampling Inspection

Core Equipment Configuration: Full 304 stainless‑steel tanks; 0‑3000 W adjustable ultrasonic power; PLC full‑automatic control; oil‑water separation and debris filtration system; compatible with automatic loading/unloading for production lines.

Solution B: BK Vacuum Hydrocarbon / Modified Alcohol Closed Ultrasonic Cleaning (Preferred for High‑cleanliness OEM E‑drive Motor Housings)

Application: New‑energy e‑drive motor housings with complex blind holes and water‑cooling passages; requirements for watermark‑free, oxidation‑free, high cleanliness and low‑VOC environmental protection, zero wastewater discharge.

Standard Process Flow (Bakr Multi‑station Vacuum Cleaning Machine)

  1. Automatic loading (manipulator)

  2. Vacuum high‑pressure spray rough cleaning: Remove bulk aluminum chips and heavy release agent / grease

  3. 40 kHz dual‑frequency ultrasonic precision cleaning: Under vacuum condition, solvent penetrates blind holes and gaps of water‑cooling channels to strip micro‑scale particulate contaminants and grease

  4. Vacuum displacement rinsing: Solvent displacement to extract air bubbles inside holes and eliminate cleaning dead zones

  5. Vapor‑bath fine cleaning: Further removal of micro‑particles

  6. Low‑temperature vacuum drying. Fully enclosed unit with ≥98 % solvent distillation recovery; no wastewater discharge

  7. Automatic unloading; optional connection to cleanliness‑testing station

Advantages: No blackening or oxidation of aluminum parts; parts ready for direct assembly after cleaning; compliant with green‑factory EHS requirements; suitable for high‑end e‑drive housings; single cycle: 8‑16 min.
